Professional Two-Visit Treatment Program - Everything you need to know before, during, and after your treatment.

Welcome

Thank you for choosing Shamrock Pest Management. Cockroaches are resilient pests that hide in small cracks, crevices, cupboards, wall voids, and behind appliances. Successful treatment depends on both professional treatment and proper preparation. Our treatment program includes two professional treatments scheduled 21–28 days apart to provide the best opportunity for long-term control.

Understanding Your Treatment

  • Two professional insecticide treatments scheduled 21–28 days apart.
  • Comprehensive inspection to identify activity and harbourage areas.
  • Targeted application of professional residual insecticides.
  • Treatment may include kitchens, bathrooms, utility rooms, baseboards, cracks, crevices, cupboards, behind appliances, and other identified harbourage areas.

Why Two Treatments?

The first treatment significantly reduces the active population. Because egg cases may hatch after the initial service, a second treatment is required to target newly emerged cockroaches before they mature and reproduce. Completing both visits is essential for the best possible results.

Before Your Treatment

  • All people and pets must vacate the home for a minimum of 5 hours after treatment.
  • Reduce floor clutter throughout the home, especially in the kitchen.
  • Remove all items from kitchen cupboards and drawers and place them in sealed garbage bags or plastic bins.
  • Move movable furniture at least 24 inches away from walls where possible (dressers, couches, nightstands, etc.).
  • Remove or securely bag pet food, pet dishes, toys, and bedding.
  • Remove or securely store all exposed food items.
  • Place sealed bags or bins outside if possible, or in the centre of the room to allow access to walls and baseboards.

During Your Treatment

Your technician will inspect the home and apply professional insecticides to identified harbourage areas. Every treatment is customized to the conditions found during the inspection.

After Your Treatment

  • It is normal to see increased cockroach activity during the first several days after treatment.
  • Do not wash treated baseboards, cracks, crevices, or other treated areas for approximately 30 days.
  • Do not use bug bombs, aerosol sprays, or over-the-counter insecticides, as they can reduce treatment effectiveness.
  • Keep food stored in sealed containers.
  • Clean up crumbs and spills promptly.
  • Empty garbage regularly and avoid leaving dirty dishes overnight.
  • Repair plumbing leaks and eliminate standing water whenever possible.

Frequently Asked Questions

Why am I seeing more cockroaches after treatment?

This is normal. The treatment disturbs hiding places and exposes cockroaches to treated surfaces before they die.

Will one treatment solve the problem?

Most infestations require both scheduled treatments for the best results.

Can I clean after treatment?

Yes, but avoid washing treated baseboards, cracks, crevices, and other treated areas for about 30 days unless instructed otherwise.

When should I contact Shamrock?

If you have questions before your follow-up treatment or continue to experience significant activity after both scheduled treatments have been completed.
