Professional Two-Visit Treatment Program - Everything you need to know before, during, and after your treatment.

Welcome

Thank you for choosing Shamrock Pest Management. Bed bugs are one of the most challenging household pests to eliminate because they hide in tiny cracks and crevices, and their eggs are protected from many insecticides. Our treatment program includes two professional treatments scheduled 21–28 days apart. Following this handbook will help achieve the best possible results.

Understanding Your Treatment

  • Two professional treatments scheduled 21–28 days apart.
  • Professional residual insecticides applied to identified harbourage areas.
  • Targeted steam treatment may be used where appropriate based on the technician's assessment.
  • Treatment may include beds, bed frames, box springs, furniture, baseboards, cracks, crevices, and other identified harbourage areas.

Why Two Treatments?

The first treatment targets active bed bugs. Eggs may hatch after the initial treatment, so the second visit targets newly emerged bed bugs before they can mature and reproduce. Completing both visits is essential for the best possible results.

Before Your Treatment

  • All people and pets must vacate the home for a minimum of 5 hours after treatment.
  • Strip beds completely and leave mattresses and box springs uncovered.
  • Wash bedding in hot water and dry on the highest heat setting.
  • Store clean bedding in sealed bags or bins until treatment is complete.
  • Remove all items stored under beds.
  • Reduce clutter around beds and furniture.
  • Wash exposed clothing and store cleaned items in sealed bags.

During Your Treatment

Your technician will inspect the affected areas and apply the most appropriate treatment methods based on the infestation. Treatment may include professional insecticides, targeted steam treatment, and applications to cracks, crevices, furniture, bed frames, and other harbourage areas.

After Your Treatment

  • It is normal to continue seeing bed bug activity for 2–3 weeks after treatment.
  • Do not wash treated baseboards, bed frames, cracks or crevices for approximately 30 days.
  • Do not use bug bombs or over-the-counter insecticides.
  • Continue sleeping in the treated bed whenever possible.
  • Continue laundering bedding using hot water and high heat.
